前些日子朋友聊起暑假生活，談到她小女兒的生活趣事，讓我回來之後想了許久…
她說小女兒暑假期間，她們一塊兒去百貨公司的餐廳用餐時，看上了一雙鞋，以當媽媽的觀點來看，的確是雙美鞋，但當得知價格時，她就對孩子說：「太貴了，等到有打折再說吧。」其實，她們家應該也算是所謂的豪門吧，代理幾個國際知名品牌，事業經營的有聲有色，家裡佣人、司機將日常生活打理的井然有序。那雙鞋子的價格，坦白說，可能都不足以支付她在外用餐一次的花費，但是，當媽媽都知道，孩子長得快，常常有些衣服、鞋子，就這樣穿了一次、兩次，想塞也塞不進，會有讓人捶心肝的感覺，她就是這麼形容給我聽的。
這期間，每一次進百貨公司，小女孩總是會央求媽媽讓她再去看看鞋子，摸模鞋子，再三的讚嘆那鞋子的美。夏季的尾聲，百貨公司的折扣如火如荼的展開，朋友也看到各大專櫃祭出了折扣優惠，誰之，就這麼不巧，小女兒愛的這是非折扣款，專櫃小姐也發現了常來＂看鞋子＂這對母女，就對朋友說，既然妳們這麼喜歡，那就把十位數字的零頭刪去便宜給妳們，噗… 那那那… 那就是便宜20元啦，朋友聽了當然覺得謝謝、再連絡囉，但是小孩子哪懂得了這些，她抬著頭問媽媽，所以有便宜了喔，是不是？媽媽對她說：「可是只有一點點，真的是一點點，沒有很便宜耶！所以我們可以再等等看吧。」
過了幾天，夫妻倆和女兒又一塊兒現身在百貨公司，小女兒興奮的告訴爸爸，要帶他去看那美麗萬分的鞋子，可是因為還沒有打折，所以媽媽說還得要等。朋友在一旁看了，心裡覺得既好笑又覺得心疼，因為每每看到鞋子的數量漸漸減少，就不知道要圓女兒願望那天，是不是還有她想要的鞋款和尺寸。不一會兒就對小女兒說，待會兒吃飯的時候，如果妳有乖乖的吃飯，吃很多又很快，表現好的話，那等我們吃完飯以後，就下樓來買這雙鞋子。小女孩聽完樂的呢，拉著爸媽就想趕緊吃飯去。
客滿的餐廳，還得要等上近半個小時的時間，三人在等後的同時，到了玩具部門，因為先前還有credit在玩具部門專櫃，先生對太太說，買樣東西把credit給用完吧。家中甚麼也不缺，選了好久好久，才讓小女兒勉為其難的選了個玩具。接著，三人當然就照原訂計畫用餐，吃飯當時，據朋友的描述，她那小女兒真的拼了命的吃，而且真的是吃的又多又快，胃口奇好，放下碗筷後，小女孩對著爸媽說：「我今天的表現是不是很好？那待會兒可以帶我去買那雙美麗的鞋子了嗎？」爸爸馬上拉下了臉說：「剛剛都已經買了玩具了，所以不需要再買鞋子。」小女兒睜大了雙眼：「我沒有說我要買玩具呀，剛剛是你們要我選一樣玩具的，我一點都沒有想要買玩具？！」朋友看了心裡很難過、很不捨。但她對我說，在當時，她還是順著先生的話對孩子說，是呀，剛剛已經買了玩具，所以我看鞋子要等到下次了。聽到這，連我都覺得很難過跟不可思議了，因為朋友的小女兒很她的老大相差了有十來歲之多，在我觀念裡，應該是對著么女百般寵愛，予取予求。但是她告訴我，她先生是很有原則的，所以，她自己縱然有再多不捨，也會留到私下跟先生溝通，在孩子面前，夫妻倆的管教是要在一陣線的。
的確，這讓人覺得有點無情，但仔細想想，又未嘗不是好的呢，方針立場一致，值得效法學習呢。
