老師到底有沒有教
佑佑暑假後升上了六年級，在美式的教育體系上來說，是邁入了第二個階段了，也就是 middle school，和在台灣傳統的有些許的不同。
其實，不只是他陌生，對我和 Jerry 來說，也是另一完全茫然的體驗，似乎又回到了剛到 TAS 時的手足無措的模樣。
他們不再有班級的編制，上課就是按照課表開始跑堂了，也不再像 lower school 一樣，享受沒有作業的周末時光。
開學一個多月，不只我這當媽的緊張，我想他也是有極大的壓力，以數學課來說，除了例行的作業，平均每一個多星期就會有十題左右的 Problem Solving，這些題目還真不容易，上星期就是令人寫到令人抓狂的排列組合，不但我自己先試算，在同一時間，也得跟他一邊解釋，一邊提示他思考方向，要他自己提筆練習解題，然後兩人才互相檢討訂正，才把最後的 final 謄寫在作業紙上。
這禮拜的呢，則是玩起 cryptarithms 的練習題，就是那種英文字母都有對應數字的解碼，老實說我是花了不少時間解那讓我頭髮白的三題，但是完成時的那種成就感老實說挺不錯的。但是就在完成的同時，Jerry 也問我，我們翻遍了他的數學練習本，裡面根本就沒有類似的題型，不是沒有喔，是連邊都沒見，而我就要花如此長的時間來解題，以小朋友的能力究竟要用掉多少的時間來解題。這當然是我們私底下的對話啦，在佑佑面前，我們也是三申五令的要他上課要專心，才不會做題目時＂霧沙沙＂。
我們這周末才認真的問他，你們老師上課到底都在教甚麼呀？他竟然說就講一些些練習本上的，然後就要他們做練習本上的題目。我和 Jerry 互看了許久，實在不知道該說些甚麼，只能 email 老師約時間了解詳情。Jerry 跟我說，要我問問其他的媽媽們，看看人家的孩子到底是都怎麼做功課，唉 …… 真的不知道耶，其實問了也有點白搭，現在大家都講得很保留，官方說法就是：都是孩子自己做功課耶，我也沒看不知道！
是我年紀大了，跟不上時代了嗎？還是現在的孩子們，個個是神童，老師只要點其一，其他的九，便能立即領悟。兒子，老師到底有沒有教呀？
